Jennifer Akkaway, DDS is a pediatric dentist with expertise in the unique needs of children and adolescents. She understands that children are not simply small adults. To provide them with optimum dental care, she knows that young patients require special techniques and a gentle touch. Dr. Jen maintains that building a trusting relationship takes time and patience, but is necessary to avoid causing a lifetime of dental fears.

Dr. Jen and her staff will take time to teach proper dental maintenance techniques while making sure your child’s visits are stress-free and fun.

Dr. Jen brings many years of experience to Flanders Pediatric Dentistry. She is a graduate of Columbia University, where she earned her D.D.S. in 2004. She completed a General Dentistry Residency program and then earned her Pediatric Specialist degree at Columbia University. Dr. Jen graduated with honors and was involved in research pertaining to the use of novel topical anesthetics and their application in Pediatric Dentistry. She also completed a Pediatric Dental Residency with concentrations in conscious sedation, interceptive orthodontics and operating room dentistry at New York Presbyterian Hospital. In addition to her work in private practice, Dr. Jen is on staff at Englewood Hospital and teaches the residents in training.
In her free time, Dr. Jen enjoys baking and spending time with her two children. She also loves photography and dance.
